Reaching half a Billion sales in Food Retail
In the run-up to the busy ‘Golden Quarter of Retail’, our Food Retail business has now reached a key milestone, achieving over £½ Billion sales year-to-date. This is fantastic news for the Society and reflects the dedicated and hard work of our colleagues throughout this difficult time.
Occurring 5 weeks earlier than it happened last year, it emphasises how strong our sales performance has been across Food Retail with many product areas seeing growth. What is especially pleasing to see it that as we continue to enjoy strong like-for-like growth, our customer satisfaction measures including how safe customers feel when shopping in our stores, has also improved due to the focus on delivering the best possible service and keeping our customers and colleagues safe. A great job.
The Phone Co-op win at the Retail System Awards
This week, The Phone Co-op in partnership with Conversity has been awarded the ‘Online Innovation of the Year’ by the Retail System Awards. Beating some major brands such as Tropicana Wholesale, Jaguar Land Rover and Matalan, the technology has transformed the way the Phone Co-op approach customers, helping to make decisions much easier.
The technology helps by answering tailored questions and recommends the ideal product to suit the customers’ needs whether it is broadband, a Fairphone or an easy to use mobile phone. In the retail environment, meeting the customer needs and showcasing an exceptional experience helps to bring in and retain existing members to our Utilities business.
Well done to Jacci Marcus and the Digital Customer Experience team at the Phone Co-op. For more information see here.
Black Country Business Heroes – Finalists
As one award is won, it has just been announced that we have been nominated at the annual Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards in the categories of ‘Retail Resilience’ and ‘Kindness in the community’.
The awards recognise our outstanding contributions in a year affected by the pandemic. From supporting our most vulnerable members and communities with over 80,000 Home Deliveries to launching the Community Restart Fund, raising over £75,000 for several charitable organisations to keep going in uncertain times. We are proud as a society to be nominated and I look forward to when the results are revealed on 13th November.
Colleague Pulse Survey
Today, we opened a new colleague pulse survey which focuses on our Travel business.
During a year which has seen many trips and travels affected by the pandemic, we want you to help support our travel business with a range of new campaigns and initiatives for 2021. It's a chance to tell us your views and help improve the travel business for the better. Contributing to future planning and decision making, the survey is less than six questions long and takes a few minutes to complete, so we encourage you all to take part.
If you are not signed into Colleagues Connect already, this link will ask you to do so first.
You can complete this round’s pulse survey here.
