Covid-19
Although I have consistently said thank you to colleagues for the way you have reacted to ensure the safety of our customers, members and each other since the pandemic began, I wanted to make a special point this week to say thank you again. I know only too well the efforts you have all been making and the difference this makes to our members and if you are in any doubt of this difference then I would urge you to watch the video of Mrs Langdown here as well as review the regular feedback that we get on the Thumbs Up pages.
Recognised with Silver GroceryAid Award
Hopefully, you will agree we have given support to you all in many ways. One of the partner organisations that have helped us provide this support is GroceryAid. You will have seen the article on Monday giving an example of this support, click here.
I am delighted to say that we have been recognised with a Silver GroceryAid Award for the incredible support we have given to GroceryAid during 2020. Rebekah Brain leads our relationship with them and so I would like to say a special thanks to Beki for her work in this area.

Co-op Childcare calling for more support
I was pleased this week to see Sally Bonnar, Chief Operating Officer of our Childcare business on a panel with the Co-op Party as well as the Shadow Cabinet Office Minister, talking about the impact of Covid-19 on early years provision and making the case for additional government support for the Childcare sector.
World Co-operative Monitor Official Launch
As a proud Co-operator, it was great to see Midcounties taking part in the launch of the World Co-operative Monitor early this week and being recognised as one of the top 300 Co-ops in the World. We featured extensively in the latest edition of the World Co-operative Monitor report, receiving international recognition for our work on climate change and our response to Covid-19.
Finally, I would like to say a personal thank you to Adrian Wilkinson, Chief Operating Officer, Pharmacy and Emma Pile, Travel Retail Operations Project Manager who will be leaving the society at the end of the month. Both Adrian and Emma have been valuable members of the team with dedicated service and many positive contributions during their time with us, I wish them all the best for the future.
