The Midcounties Women in Retail campaign continues and today we share a day in the life of two of our female Store Managers, Stacey Dingley and Aimee Briggs, who’ve recently returned to work after having children. To see how they got on, watch their videos below.
Aimee Briggs, Store Manager at Bloxwich Knave Food
Aimee shares her morning routine with her toddler and discusses how she juggles her shift patterns with her Store Manager husband, Sam.
Stacey Dingley, Store Manager at Park Hall Food
Meet Stacey as she embarks on her first Keeping in Touch (KIT) Day, leaving baby Lily with her mum for the first time to go back into work.
Your career after children
Whether you’re a mum or a dad, having kids changes your life. Your priorities can shift and you may not be able to work as flexibly as you did before. Midcounties is very supportive of working parents, aiming to be as flexible as possible to support your needs.
You may even want to consider taking a job share to allow you to reduce your hours while maintaining your career.
Later in the year we will be trialling 2 store manager job shares for a 3-month period (1 in a supermarket and 1 in a convenience store). This is available to any colleague, regardless of gender, that may already be a store manager or looking for their next career move.
If you’re interested in applying or want to find out more email matt.windridge@midcounties.coop and susan.barguss@midcounties.coop
Find out more about careers in Retail at one of our roadshows taking place virtually and in Oxford on Wednesday 8 September and on Tuesday 12 October (location TBC). More details to follow.
