Churchstoke Fun Day

This weekend marks the last ever Churchstoke Fun Day, which will be hosted by Midcounties on Sunday, 10am - 4pm. I am always humbled to hear about the time, effort and organisation that our colleagues put into these fun events throughout the year, to ensure that our links with local communities and the charities based within them continue to benefit from our fundraising.

The money raised on the day will go back to local charities and their activities. I hope the weather will be kind over the weekend for a successful Fun Day.

Our colleagues have been working hard to ensure there is a feast of fun attractions, children’s characters and amazing main arena acts booked throughout the day. Some of the attractions include birds of prey display, which I’m sure will be amazing, BMX show, a motorcycle stunt team, American wrestling and the ‘Paws for Thought’ dog display team. You can even bring your own dogs along and try your hand at dog agility!

Some other activities will include helicopter rides, a funfair, giant water slide, donkey rides, local community groups with a wide selection of artisan products.

I am glad to see that our 1Change campaign in the sustainability marquee will be set up at the event, so you can get involved with environmental discussions and you can also meet our local Shropshire Regional Community Team colleagues.

The address of the event is Churchstoke Shopping Centre, Crosslikey, Churchstoke SY15 6AR. Entry is £3 but under 12’s are free. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Roy Delves who has kindly permitted the event to take place over the years within the beautiful surroundings of his country park. Pulse Survey

I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the Colleagues who took part and shared their views in the Society’s recent Pulse Survey. The response rate has been a fantastic 67% which will give us a real understanding and breadth of feedback from across all trading groups and support services.

It’s really important that you share your views, as this helps us to shape the direction of the Society and continue making it a great place to work and shop. As we collate the group results, keep an eye out for the next steps which will be shared in due course.

Colleagues Connect Anniversary Competition

As you may have seen, on 31^st July we launched the Colleagues Connect Anniversary Competition and we’re giving away our biggest prizes to date! The competition will run until 13^th August, with a new prize being given away every weekday.

To enter you simply have to correctly answer the quiz questions each day. In addition, for every day you enter you get an additional entry into our big prize draw, where we will be giving away ‘£1000 off your dream holiday!’
