We’re proud to celebrate another milestone in our Society’s sustainability journey with the successful installation of solar panels at our Bloxwich Food Store in Walsall.
Working in partnership with Big Solar Co-op, the Bloxwich store is now home to 192 solar panels that will generate approximately 70,000 kWh of renewable electricity every year – saving over 14 tonnes of CO₂ annually. That’s equivalent to the emissions from over 30,000 miles driven in an average car.

So far, we’ve installed more than 550 solar panels at sites including our Warwick Head Office and our Copthorne and Ashby Road food stores. Together, these are generating more than 200,000 kWh of green energy and saving over 40 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
Installed last summer, the Warwick Head Office now has 141 solar panels
By integrating solar power generation into our operations, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint but also demonstrating the power of co-operation in action.
Thank you to all colleagues involved for helping us take another step towards a greener, fairer future – from the centre of our communities.
