Black History Month is here, and the Culture & Belief team from the Inclusion Allies Network invites you to join us in celebrating this year’s theme: “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.”
Black History month is a time to honour the incredible contributions of Black people across history, culture, science, and society and to recognise their vital role in shaping civilisation. It’s a moment to reflect on resilience, creativity and pride that continue to inspire progress today.
But this celebration isn’t just about the past. Its about recognising the people whose courage and achievements continue to move us forward – proving that standing proud in one’s identity isn’t just an act of pride, but a force for lasting change. By learning from history, we can educate future generations, foster pride in Black identity and drive progress toward racial equality.
Here are just a few inspiring figures to explore this month:

Creating positive change and an inclusive culture is a year-round commitment. You can take action by reading books by Black authors, supporting Black-owned businesses, or watching films and documentaries that educate and inspire (The Black Collection on Netflix or Prime is a great place to start). Every small action builds understanding and helps create a more inclusive future.
