Doing good together we recently partnered with Boundary Brook Community Projects to unveil a stunning new mural by our Iffley Road Food store. Transforming a plain space, the vibrant artwork brings positivity and community pride to the area.
Crafted by the talented local artist Lisa MadeIt over five days, this area of East Oxford needed some TLC and colour to bring it to life. Inspired by the active lifestyles of the residents, Lisa's mural is a dynamic reflection of the vibrant community. Featuring a scootering dog, skateboarders, rollerbladers, and a girl performing a handstand, every detail captures the energy and spirit of East Oxford.

Boundary Brook Community Projects, a non-profit organisation dedicated to gardening and art, has played a pivotal role in this initiative. Their remarkable work, exemplified by the transformation of a nearby area into the enchanting "Flower Lane" through last year's Community Alleyway Project, shows the power of community-driven initiatives.

Haidar-Ali Bokhari, the Store Manager at Iffley Road Food, expressed delight at the recent collaboration with Lisa and the team from Boundary Brook Community Projects. He highlighted the transformative impact of their latest art piece, which brings Lisa's vibrant colours and community-centric approach to Iffley Road.
As well as how the collaborative effort has turned local spaces into inviting and lively areas, fostering a sense of pride among store colleagues. The hope is that the installation will not only bring joy to members and customers but also serve as inspiration for budding artists in the area.
Similarly, Dawn Weller, a volunteer at Boundary Brook Community Projects, echoed this sentiment, expressing pleasure in contributing to the mural. She noted the positive reception from local residents, who appreciate how the artwork reflects the uniqueness of the area and strengthens community bonds.
Together, through initiatives like this, we continue to inspire creativity, spread joy and create sustainable difference within our communities. A perfect example of Doing good together!
