On Monday 2nd September, our new purpose-built nursery in Apley, Telford will open its doors to local families and children. Take a look around the new nursery and find out more about the big investments we’re making in our Childcare businesses!
A first look at Apley
Bright and airy and with space for up to 100 children, last week, Apley Nursery held a special ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the local Mayor as well as colleagues from the Executive Team and Board members.
The nursery has three rooms with a tailored environment for each age group to support their learning and development; while ensuring they have fun at the same time.
It also has a large garden for outdoor play, a designated parents’ room to catch up with their child’s allocated key worker and on-site parking.

Investing in our childcare nurseries and Pioneering Great Futures
The first five years of a child’s life lay the foundations that shape their future. All our nurseries provide an environment where children grow, learn and love the world around them.
We encourage children to manage their emotions, build resilience, confidence and empathy – and to understand the impact of their actions. All with the help of our Little Pioneers!
Recently we’ve produced a short video at our Apley nursery to showcase how we’re Pioneering Great Futures. The video will be used across a multimedia campaign and so far, it has received over 354,000 views across our social channels. If you’ve not seen it yet you can view it here.
As part of our five-year growth plan and our campaign in Pioneering Great Futures, we’ve continued roll-out of the Little Pioneers brand.
Madley Park, Charlton and Watford Junction have just enjoyed facelifts and Cainscross, Dewsbury and Rathvilly will follow later this year, all totalling more than £1.5 million. The work to refurbish, re-brand and carry out essential maintenance has enabled increased occupancy and improved the look and feel of the sites for the benefit of the children and our colleagues.
