At the end of November, 27 remarkable colleagues channelled their inner elf to wrap 900 chocolate packs to donate to Co-op Travel’s charity partner, Go Beyond. Commercial Manager Tour Operation Valérie Hibbert tells us more.
What’s the story behind the chocolate packs, Valérie?
Just like last year, with the help of Peter Leach from the Knighton food store, Your Co-op Travel and Co-op Holidays donated chocolate packs to Go Beyond.
The packs will be sent to the children and young people who have been on one of their breaks this year as a Christmas treat.

But this year you decided to wrap them?
Yes! We felt it was a great opportunity to do even more good together by inviting colleagues to use their volunteering hours to wrap all 900 chocolate packs.
The big wrap took place at Warwick head office and 27 colleagues joined in, spending over four hours wrapping. I was extremely grateful that so many colleagues came forward wanting to help.
Phew, that’s a lot of wrapping paper!
We were very fortunate that one of Peter Leach’s suppliers, kindly donated 80 wrapping paper rolls to us, which was greatly appreciated and a true sign of partners doing good together.

Go Beyond must have been so pleased to receive these beautifully wrapped gifts…
Yes, their CEO Michele Farmer said, “The impact that these presents have on the young people is difficult to describe. So many of the children who come to Go Beyond don’t expect a Christmas present from anyone, so this will be a wonderful surprise for them. Every child will know that we are still thinking of them and that they are not alone. Thank you so much to everyone at the Co-op who make these small dreams come true.”

A big thank you to all the colleagues who took part! How will you spend your 22.5 (pro-rata) volunteering hours over Christmas and into 2024? Find out more about how we can do good together.
