Thank You, Home Delivery & Remembering from Afar
Thank you
Today marks the start of the 3rd week of the UK coronavirus lockdown and the changes that have been brought to all of us in our daily lives and working arrangements, whether customer-facing, redeployed to other areas of the business, working from home or other changes. Again, can I just say a huge thank you to every colleague at this time.
But it’s not just our thanks, we’ve had lots of compliments and praise for the work and actions of colleagues. Our team in the Aylesbury Food store had customers leave them gifts and organised a round of applause outside the store to say thank you, how nice is that!

Home delivery - Helping our vulnerable customers to stay safe
Our efforts to support our most vulnerable customers who are self-isolating to getting basic, essential food delivered to their doors is working well. This partnership between our food stores and local community volunteers who are making deliveries has meant that we have now delivered to over 3,500 people, with the amount being actioned by volunteers continuing to rise, which is great.

We have been reaching out for more volunteers through social media, email and on our websites and I am pleased to say that we have taken hundreds of calls in to the membership team with more volunteers coming forward. However, we still need your help to spread the message further to the people who need our support. Please can you take a minute to share our social media posts. We are particularly keen to share it with local community groups on Facebook who will already be in touch with vulnerable customers.

Help us to help others remember a loved one from Afar
A funeral offers relatives and friends of those who have passed away the opportunity to remember and celebrate the life of their loved one.
Sadly, current restrictions mean that it is not always possible to attend a funeral in person, and our colleagues have been finding solutions for the bereaved to enable them to still take part in the funeral and mark the passing of the one they hold dear.
We have been adapting to this situation and our Funeral Group colleagues have been recording the innovative ways they have agreed with clients so other colleagues can benefit from shared knowledge.
We would also welcome any other ideas from all colleagues, as we aim to make the funeral services for those who pass away in these difficult times as special as possible. Take a look at the ideas so far and why not share any that you may have for the benefit of others here.
Thumbs Up - #TeamMC
We’ve had a great response to the call so far, but want to continue sharing your messages and Thumbs Up, celebrating #TeamMC so please keep them coming in. Remember to post them on your dedicated Facebook groups, or send them directly to thumbsup@midcounties.coop. and we will share the appreciation to all. 👍

We want to ensure we are doing everything we can to help you at this time, and if you have any further ideas or comments then please, let us know using the comments section below or via your line manager. Thank you again for all YOUR efforts, it is appreciated.
