As bills continue to soar for many of us, Food poverty is on the increase with parents and families struggling to make ends meet. We’re so proud to have supported the holiday activities and food programme (HAF) during the Easter school holidays. In total, helping deliver an incredible 9,300 meals to families in need!

32 colleagues from the central team, Churchstoke, Knighton, Cinderford, Newent, Chipping Norton and Moreton-in-Marsh have been involved in making this possible and as a celebration, some of the 2021 team met together to look back on the incredible achievements.

Here are a few fantastic posts of feedback we received during the Easter deliveries:
A fantastic support team
The team consists of Lea Green Warehouse, the supply chain team who put the orders in, Judy our amazing chef, Tash and the Churchstoke team who pack all the orders and the people who volunteered to deliver the meals. A special mention to Peter Leach who brings it all together.
Having partnered with Shropshire, Walsall and Dudley Councils to provide recipes and ingredients as well as the meals, this isn’t the first time we have supported this fantastic cause. Over Christmas, we helped provide 15,000 meals in just 5 days as the busy festive period arrived. In total, a fantastic 59,000 deliveries since we started!
What’s next?
We plan to extend this initiative to a further 5 councils and help deliver 100,000 meals this year. A big challenge but we know by working together our teams can help our communities in need.
