This Christmas, we’re working with our members, colleagues and local community groups to support those facing loneliness and financial hardship. We’d love you to join in.
Over the last 20 years…
-
We’ve given over £5.4 million to local good causes.
-
You, our remarkable colleagues, have provided 560,000 hours (equivalent to 63 years!) of community volunteering.
What an amazing achievement – thank you all!
But there’s so much more we can do
In the run up to Christmas 2025, we’re focusing on the difference we can make to those using our 100+ foodbank partners to feed their families, the rural community stores offering warm spaces where isolated locals can meet and mingle, and providing game-changing funding and volunteer support to local good causes.
Get involved! This Christmas you can:
-
Become a foodbank star. Support our foodbank partners by picking up a few extra products during your next shop and dropping them off at one of our in-store donation points.
-
Give the gift of funding. Select a good cause that’s close to your heart and apply to the Doing Good Together Fund on their behalf.
-
Create a warm welcome. We work with Plunkett UK year-round to help establish new co-ops and community businesses. This month they are running a Christmas campaign to help rural community-owned shops provide festive events for those facing loneliness – why not consider donating?
-
Be a volunteering angel. Many community organisations rely on volunteers to deliver their great work. Whatever time you can give this December will make a difference. Chipping Norton, Wem and Swindon have member volunteering initiatives that you can get involved with.
Thank you for everything you’ve done so far and for making a huge difference to the communities where you live and work. We are very grateful for your continued support and entering into the doing good together spirit.
