The scene is set - twenty years ago this summer, England won the Ashes, Glastonbury rocked the crowds, London secured the 2012 Olympics, and The Midcounties Co-operative began its journey - making it a season of pride, fun, and unforgettable memories across the UK.

Since then, we have reached major milestones in our aim to do good together within the communities we serve, with our colleagues contributing more than 560,000 hours of volunteering over the past two decades – the equivalent of 63 years of time dedicated to supporting local good causes!

From lending a hand at food banks to supporting local schools, youth groups and charities, the scale of colleague volunteering reflects the Society’s long-standing commitment to doing good together to create a fairer, ethical, and more sustainable future.

And it doesn’t stop there. Over the years, we’ve also donated more than £5.4 million to local causes chosen by our members, supported apprentices and young people into work through initiatives like The Fairer Futures Programme and Bright Future Co-operative, which help those facing some of the toughest challenges to build better lives.

Don't forget! Celebrating Our 20th Anniversary: Extra Day Off

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, and as announced at the AGM earlier this year, all colleagues now have an additional day off to mark this special milestone. This day has already been added to your account and can be taken as part of this year’s annual leave allocation.
