This week we have an extra special Women in Retail-focused podcast featuring District Manager, Marianne Roper and Michelle Smith, who’s currently on secondment working in our Central Store Support Team.
Marianne and Michelle speak to host Cheryl Tree about their experiences of being women in retail at Midcounties. They address some of the challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve overcome them and provide tips for other women looking to progress their career at Midcounties.
Three different viewpoints 👁
Michelle talks about juggling full-time work and family life, with two children age 5 and 6. She says, “It can be challenging but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
Marianne started her Midcounties career on the graduate scheme and talks about overcoming stereotypes and proving her value to the Society.
Cheryl also shares her experiences of being a working mum and the pressure she puts on herself to be as flexible as she was before her toddler was on the scene.
Next week - Hear from our Young Talent within the Society
Next week in our Women in Retail series meet Store Manager, Martina Crespin and Chief HR Officer, Clare Moore – two talented young women making a big difference within the Society.
