Are you part of, or know of a local group that is planning to host a community event to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee?
We believe in putting local change in the hands of local people, and we know that our amazing colleagues are passionate about supporting their communities. So what better way to have your community come together to celebrate than by holding localised activities, such as cultural events, street parties, picnics and community celebrations linking to the nationwide Jubilee celebrations?
To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, our Local Community Grant Funding will focus its priorities for a period of six weeks from 4th April to 13th May around specific support for events linking to local celebrations that see our communities take the opportunity to come together. Eligible groups may apply for up to £150 of funding which will be distributed in Co-op Vouchers and redeemed at a local Midcounties Food Store.
Who can apply?
Any local group/charity meeting the application criteria may apply to the fund, but their event will need to demonstrate alignment with the following theme directly linking to:
-
Delivering Community-led events which bring people together to celebrate during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations
In most cases, we will be able to let the applicant know whether we can offer vouchers to support their celebration event by no later than Friday 27th May (two weeks after the fund closes for applications) This then gives enough time for the voucher to be collected and redeemed in advance of the main National Jubilee weekend from 2nd June – 5th June
Please note we are unable to provide funding to individuals. To find out more visit our grants page below.
