As mentioned in my blog last week, Tuesday saw the successful Member launch of our Your Co-op member app with over 1,310 new app users of whom 70% are new members. Fantastic news for the launch.
In true co-operative fashion, it’s been great to hear over 80 colleagues across our trading groups and partners have worked together to achieve this significant milestone. I know this will most definitely increase our membership reach as well as renew membership with our existing members, by putting membership in the palm of their hands.

In-store or branch, the app will make it much easier for colleagues to engage with members and embrace the technologies which will reward and recognise them in ways not possible before. With more exciting developments to come, it’s a gamechanger for our Society.
Lots of offers in-store – here is the first 'Scan to Win' member winner in Franche Road Food with £86 worth of free shopping
More colourful store offers and displays
By giving colleagues and members more, there are lots of offers and promotions like ‘Scan to win’ in-store or a free pumpkin after a £15 spend. Not forgetting colleague members, if you visit the app daily between 19-31st October, you’ll be entered into a daily prize draw to win £10 off your next shop, find out more here. I have been accessing the app daily this week and finding out not just about the great deals but the fantastic things we do in our communities and how we take action on the issues our members care about. Membership really does make the difference.
Colleague Protection & Flu Vaccinations
We continue to prioritise the safety of our colleagues, customers and members. With the Government vaccine rollout continuing with booster jabs, everyone has now had the opportunity for a 2nd vaccine across the country and will also be able to further protect themselves from things like seasonal flu by a Flu vaccination (flu jab).
In regard to the wearing of face coverings, we are maintaining our current policy at this time but will continue to monitor and review the situation in line with other businesses. As a reminder, you can read the guidance from July here.
If you are interested in getting your Flu vaccination (flu jab), then Your Co-op Pharmacy can help. Click here to find out more.
Society Election results
Following last week’s Half Yearly Meetings, on Monday, we held our inaugural Board meeting after the latest Society Elections. Our Society President, Helen Wiseman along with Vice Presidents, Heather Richardson and Vivian Woodell remain unchanged in their positions. I would like to give a warm welcome to new Board Members, Evelyne Godfrey and Nick Milton along with all the Member Engagement Committee (MEC) elected members.
