It has been a historic week for our Society. At Monday’s Special Members’ Meeting, 96.6% of our members voted to support the proposed merger, with Central Co-op members also voting in favour at their meeting on Wednesday evening with 92.6% voting in favour of the merger. This means we have comfortably passed the required threshold to move forward to the next stage.
In this week’s vlog, I explain the next steps for the merger with the second Special Members’ Meeting taking place on 2 December. I also look forward to seeing what comes out of the COP30 conference, and finally, I visited our Long Hanborough Food store to celebrate Maria Young, who has achieved an incredible 40 years of service with us.
