What is community energy?
Energy powered by the sun, wind or water is the future. However, how about channelling the profits from that energy back into communities, just like yours? Well, that’s community energy.
It paves the way to ensure that we, as citizens, benefit from energy – giving us more control and power over where profits are spent. Essentially, it’s a movement bringing power back to the people.
Here are a handful of examples of the amazing positive impacts just a few groups have achieved so far:

Community Energy Connect enables you to use your volunteering hours (and any other hours you’d like to give outside of work) to help get more community energy projects off the ground and support those that are already up and running.
