Dear Colleague,
Earlier tonight, Central Co-op held its Special Members’ Meeting to vote on a rule change that would allow our two Societies to merge.
We’re pleased to confirm that Central Co-op Members voted in favour of the proposal. In total, 475 members voted, with more than 92.6% supporting the merger. In line with their Society’s rules, a two-thirds majority was required for the resolution to pass – and that threshold was met.
The next step will be for our Co-operative to hold a second Special Members’ Meeting on 2 December 2025, where a simple majority vote will be needed to officially confirm the merger. Click here for details of how to register for this meeting.
This is an important milestone in creating our new Society, and we thank you for your continued support and engagement. If you have any questions or would like to know more about what the merger means for you, please contact us at ask@midcounties.coop.
With thanks and best regards,
Phil Ponsonby, Midcounties CEO
