Fairer Futures Programme update
Out and about on Tuesday, I met with the Fairer Futures team for a quarterly review where we discussed the programme's progress so far and heard from some graduates and current trainees, Molly, and Demi and how it’s making a difference to them which is great. Having recently celebrated the programme’s first anniversary which has supported 18 young people into work so far, we will be working to engage with more local employers to join in and support the programme.
Remarkable colleague volunteering
This week we celebrated National Volunteers Week reflecting on over 21,000 hours of fantastic colleague volunteering. Whether that’s shaving heads for cancer, running marathons or cycling in our nurseries, our colleagues really do embody our values in Doing good together. Thank you for all your volunteering efforts over 2023 that have helped support so many brilliant organisations and people. All about our remarkable colleagues, watch our video update showcasing how we do good together in communities every day.

Doing Good Together with Pride
June is Pride month, so it's been great to see colleagues showing their support for the celebration. With changes to our online channels with the familiar rainbow colours, the month is for everyone, regardless of how you identify. I look forward to seeing how you will be celebrating across the month in our events and the local festivities. So, join in and share your stories to Count Me In here. Happy Pride Month!

Bristol Nursery Rebrand - Society Investments

Tomorrow will see the relaunch of our newly rebranded Bristol Nursery following an investment of £435k, transforming the nursery into a Your Co-op Little Pioneers. With a dedicated parent's room, quiet space and outdoor play area, the opening forms part of our growth and re-brand plans. Helping us to bring the Little Pioneers brand to many more communities across the country. Have a watch of the brilliant drone walkaround here.
Fair Tax Week – 10th Anniversary of the Fair Tax Mark
We’re excited to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Fair Tax Week next week. A pioneering founding member of the Fair Tax Mark alongside The Phone Co-op, we’re proud to maintain this prestigious accreditation, considered the gold standard of responsible tax conduct. As a responsible business, we must operate ethically and align with our values. So, paying the right amount of tax means more funds are created for essential community services and helps set a positive example for other businesses to follow.
Championing our Sustainable Impact
This week it was World Environment Day, where we shared and showcased our sustainability journey. Having made great progress in reducing our total Greenhouse Gas (GHG) since 2019 by 32%, as well as reducing our energy usage by 11%, a thank you to everyone for playing their part in making this possible. As continue to make improvements, there are some small changes you can make too. Find out more here.

And finally, it was great to welcome some new additions to Warwick House. Earlier this week, our beekeepers successfully rehomed 3 swarms of bees into the hives on the bank above the car park. Watch the video to see how it was done. We hope they will bee happy here!
