Did you know we recognise the fantastic work that our colleagues do on a daily basis? Colleagues at Midcounties can be rewarded in many ways for going above and beyond in their roles. This contributes to our Team Midcounties values and one example is our Colleague Support Services Awards! They took place this week and we are proud to announce this year’s winners…
If you wish to be in with a shot of winning an award next year, just have a chat with any of our finalists. Check out the winners below with their nomination comments:
Manager of the Year - Sophie Adams-Hyatt
Runners Up – Emma Whitson and Sarah Swift
Sophie
Sophie's comments
Sophie’s Nomination - Sophie is dedicated to the Workforce Management team and ensures that they are all engaged and supported. She has taken on the responsibility and done a fabulous job stepping in to run the Workforce Management team with Heather on maternity leave. Sophie has shown a very strong management capability and a great aptitude for understanding the wider business challenges around payroll costs.
Sophie is always incredibly helpful and will always help to find a solution. I’ve never known Sophie be anything but smiling, happy and courteous at all times, but most of all really professional and delivers great results particularly through her training. Sophie also always puts herself out to help arrange social events for the team, or activities for charity fundraising.
Team of the Year - Refit Team
Runners Up – Post Office Team and Horizon Operational Team
The Refit Team
Refit Team comments
Refit Team - This team were initially set up from a collection of store managers and team managers who went into the unknown to form the team just over two years ago. They have worked tirelessly in completing various refits, acquisitions and disposals, with high standard and personal commitment. They have shown great resourcefulness with recycling Society assets, managing expectations with superb delivery and execution of day to day requests that also come into them. The role often comes across several unexpected and unforeseen last-minute challenges that require work rounds and the “extra mile” to be found, to ensure delivery of the objective.
Colleague of the Year - Angharad Edwards
Runners Up – Kate Lamb and Sam Beer
Angharad
Angharad's comments
Angharad Edwards - Angharad has been instrumental in the improvements in satisfaction scores across Food this year, she has personally attended meetings across convenience and supermarkets to brief managers and to answer any queries as well as presenting trends and improvements in senior meetings. Angharad is also a fantastic organiser for the Regional Community events and social events in the office and does all this with a fantastic attitude and permanent smile on her face. She is a great asset and has a very bright future with the business.
James Eales - Rising Star of the Year
Runners Up – Ethan Morris and Krystina Buniak
James with Chief Values Officer, Pete Westall
James' comments
James Eales - James has been an amazing team player this year. He gives so much effort to everything he does across the breadth of his job, demonstrating amazing service to our members when he speaks to them in a professional and efficient manner. He goes above and beyond, his whole attitude and the way he goes about his job is a real credit to Midcounties. An excellent role model to his peer group and colleagues.
In addition, this year James has taken on the role of Young Member Ambassador, adding a huge amount of value to the setup of the programme including and being successful in putting himself forward for the MEC. He has grown massively in confidence, capability and knowledge.
Colleagues Colleague of the Year - Mark Redgrave
Runners Up – Hannah Lowbridge and Anna O’Leary
Mark
Mark's comments
Mark Redgrave - Mark is a real pleasure to work with. He has time for his team and other teams and never refuses to help. He goes out of his way to help others. He always listens and has time for us as individuals, and nothing is too much trouble. We as a team are currently helping another part of the business and he always gives us an update with what is happening and trains us accordingly, he always puts his team first and make sure we understand what is going on with our day. Mark always ensures we complete our volunteering hours, and although his volunteering hours are complete, he would always take time to deliver food to the foodbank in his own time. He is a team player and motives his team into using their best potential. He knows exactly what we enjoy most in our job and encourages us to utilise our skills.
A huge well done & congratulations to all our winners and nominated candidates for this year and their work at Midcounties over the previous year, keep up the great work!
