We know that you are doing an incredible job, going above and beyond to help our members, customers and fellow colleagues, whilst adapting to this ever-changing and challenging time.

We want to share your stories of giving a thumbs up with other colleagues to keep morale high and to show that as co-operators we’re all in this together as team Midcounties. ‘Thumbs Up’ is our way of celebrating all your heroic efforts by sharing your great work and giving other colleagues the ability to like it.

"Just a quick note regarding the Hollyfield Road store, this is my local shop and following the current situation with Covid-19, I’ve used this store more often in recent weeks. It’s always had everything I have needed when I visit and the admittance procedure to the store and social distancing is strictly observed. The staff are very courteous and very helpful. Especially Sophie on the checkout who’s always very cheerful! Many thanks, you’re doing a great job in difficult times."

Wonderful Staff - Great Job

"I am writing to tell you what a wonderful job the staff are doing at Cinderford Co-op during this awful time. They are putting themselves and their family at risk to serve us yet are still faced at times with awful abuse. I witnessed such abuse from an elderly man today. His behaviour was uncalled for and embarrassing. He really was vile. Yet staff dealt with it professionally and politely. They should not have to put up with such attacks. Sadly, I do not expect this was an isolated incident. I and my family are truly grateful to all the staff and wish they could all be rewarded when this awful situation is over. Thank you, Cinderford Co-op you are very much appreciated."

"I would like to express my gratitude to your Manager Alan at Longlevens Co-op and his staff for an excellent service to us who are in a vulnerable state during this lockdown. I used to work for Gloucestershire Co-op for 12 years back in the 1950-60s and played both football & cricket for Co-op teams. I have always been a Co-op shopper to my local store and enjoy the experience. Please pass my thanks to the powers that be."

How you can get involved

We want you to share a picture of yourself and/or your team with your thumbs up and include a sentence outlining why you’ve given yourself, your team or a team member a ‘thumbs up’ today, along with the hashtag #TeamMC.

E.g. it could be some great customer feedback you’ve had for going above and beyond. Or something you’ve done to help the community that they’re proud of. Or just that the team is Okay.

To note: please take care of social distancing for pictures together as we are also following guidelines on this and hope you are too!
