Warwick support centre – The next phase of reopening
Following the partial re-opening of our Warwick support centre, I am pleased to say that in line with our phased plans we will be opening the site more fully from the 7th September, albeit with some changes to ensure the continued safety of colleagues.
There will still be a restriction on the number of colleagues in the office at any one time and we will have new ways of working and measures in place.
Colleagues will also have to complete an i.Learn module to help understand the new office etiquette and rules so that every precaution is taken to ensure a safe working environment.
#ValuesinAction and our Campaigns
We continue to campaign on issues, putting our values into action and doing what we believe is fair and right for our colleagues and members.
You will have seen that this week we have been highlighting and joining in the call to protect retail workers from abuse, threats, and violence, working with and supporting Usdaw’s #Freedomfromfear campaign, calling on the government to introduce a new law to protect retail staff.
This is a real matter of importance to all of us whether you are shopping or working in a store and I would ask all colleagues to sign the petition and help reach 100,000 signatures, so it can be considered for debate in the House of Commons. For more information and to sign the petition see here.
Our Co-op Pharmacy led campaign to remove VAT on Sunscreen products has been given a significant boost this week, with support from both the Co-op Party and other Co-op Societies who have joined with us in an act of co-operation, calling upon their members to write to their MP and sign our petition. This is great news and a positive example of co-operatives coming together to make a difference.
You can find out more about the campaign here and again I would encourage you to support the campaign by:

Sending a letter to your local MP by clicking here

Half Yearly Meetings – Save the dates
Plans for this year’s half-year meetings in October are underway. There will be two meetings taking place, one for the north on the 6th October and one for the south on the 13th October, both will be held online, broadcast from Co-op House, much like the AGM.
The Half-Yearly meetings provide a great opportunity to get involved with how your society is run and help shape the future of your co-operative. Please save the dates and look out for further information.
Colleague Pulse Survey
Today we opened a new colleague pulse survey. These surveys help us gain feedback regularly and enable us to understand any changes to colleagues’ views over time. The survey is only 6 questions, so quick and easy to complete and to ensure that we have a broader range of colleagues view as possible I would encourage you to take the opportunity to have your say.
If you are not signed into Colleagues Connect already, this link will ask you to do so first.
You can complete this round’s pulse survey here.
