This month, we're heading to Wyre Forest Talking Newspapers, a charity that provides weekly readings of local newspapers for blind and partially sighted people in Wyre Forest. A brilliant Doing Good Together fund recipient, the charity offers a completely free service run by volunteers. Learn more in our video update!
A little bit more about Wyre Forest Talking Newspapers…
This free service, run entirely by volunteers, is available to anyone who has difficulty reading or holding a newspaper.
The group recently received a £500 grant, which was used to help purchase new boom boxes. Each boom box is costly, but every listener has one. If a boom box needs repairing, it is replaced free of charge, along with new memory sticks, as the sticks quickly become ‘sticky’ with continual use.
The charity also produces a magazine recording three times a year, featuring articles from various local and national magazines, as well as a special seasonal edition at Christmas.
Here's a few more of the fantastic groups we've supported recently...
