Our Your Community Sites (YCS) now have a presence on the Your Co-op website and Colleagues Connect, and have been busy celebrating Halloween this week to raise money for their partner schools.
We’re so pleased that our 170 Your Community Sites now have a presence on our website as well as a new dedicated Colleagues Connect page.
The new pages contain updates from YCS as well as providing partner schools and colleagues with access to our First Aid Resources, including this video featuring author Rachel Greaves and Ruffles the Train Dog retelling the story at the station where it is set.
Halloween fundraisers
Following on from this YCS Colleagues Connect story, our YCS teams have continued to raise money for their partner schools to help fund, amongst other things, breakfast clubs, library books and sensory gardens.
In fact, just this week they have been arranging a whole host of Halloween fundraisers. Here are just a few…
Stonehouse Nursery arranged a whole week of Halloween fun, from a ‘name the teddy’ competition and treasure hunt to pumpkin decorating and a fancy-dress party.
Worcester Travel hosted a half term tombola Halloween event on 26th October raising £311 for Oldbury Park Primary. The team decorated, arranged games and ran a very popular tombola. They even have half term activities running all week for the kids.
Thornbury Food got into the spirit of things with some amazing decorations, as well as ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ and ‘name the toy’ competitions. They are also hosting a tombola today.
Chichester Nursery hosted a Halloween event on 19th October with face painting, craft activities and a second-hand clothing sale which raised £260 for their school partner.
Keep an eye out for more updates on what the Your Community Sites are doing in the New Year when we’ll be speaking to colleagues and schools about their journeys. For more information, email Barbara.dunne@midcounties.coop.
