Well done to all Childcare nurseries who have achieved the Green Flag Eco-school status! π
βWe're so proud of the work our nurseries do to care for the environment around them and teach our little ones the importance of doing so too!β Leah Colson, Co-op Childcare
Eco-Schools is a global campaign started by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and in England the programme is operated by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy. Currently, more than 18,000 schools are registered on the programme.
Colleagues supporting Gloucestershire Regional Community Partner - The Aston Project π
The Aston Project is one of the Gloucestershire Regional Community(RC) charity partners but who are they? They are a Police led charity helping vulnerable children and we're proud that the RC has been working with them over the summer. Helping to improve a range of the children's skills and give them confidence in the long term.
So far this summer they have been helping with:
- writing curriculum vitae (CV) and interview techniques to help to increase the children's employability
- eating healthily - the children took a trip to our Bourton Food store to meet chef Judy. Where Judy ran a βcooking on a budget' class, teaching the children how to cook healthy meals and give them a taste of some of our more unusual products! In the next few weeks, Judy will be visiting the kitchen in their Tewksbury community centre to see how they are getting along. Yummy!
- litter picks and sports sessions. At the Newlands event, the RC hosted the first group meeting of the Aston project for 18 months with a litter pick and an introduction to sports. This included rugby coaching from Cheltenham rugby, rounders, football coaching and cricket; all part of getting the kids fit and healthy.
Well done to everybody involved and for demonstrating our #ValuesinAction! Check out some of the pictures below πππ
