It’s that time of the year and to celebrate all the great things we have done with our Regional Communities over the past year, read our 12 Days of Christmas! These range from different charities to school partnerships and highlights each day how important our donations, work and volunteering is to these partners.
Christmas is edging closer and for the tenth day of our countdown to Christmas, we're showcasing the charity Caring for Communities and People (CCP) who is the Stroud Regional Community Charity partner...have a read up on CCP below!
What do you do?
CCP stands for Caring for Communities and People and that is what we do. We exist to tackle the causes and effects of homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion.
Where are you based?
We work across Gloucestershire and the South West.
What impact has your partnership with Midcounties had?
We are partnered with the Stroud Regional Community and have been blown away with the fundraising effort that they have put in. All those on the committee have been so dedicated to the cause and are always asking how they can help further.
Fundraising efforts in-store and at the top abseiling!
So far, the group have raised over £15,000 for our project, Season House, which is an accommodation for young people aged 16 – 25 who would otherwise be homeless. The money is being spent on “added extra” for the young people including day trips, training and equipment to allow them to move into their own tenancy agreements when they move on from our support. The group have put in so much effort to raise this money and we are so incredibly grateful.
What are your plans for the future?
We are excited to be working with the Midcounties team again in the new year and are just thinking up some ideas to raise more for our work.
