It’s that time of the year and to celebrate all the great things we have done with our Regional Communities over the past year, read our 12 Days of Christmas! These range from different charities to school partnerships and highlights each day how important our donations, work and volunteering is to these partners.
For the fifth day of our countdown to Christmas, we are showcasing Just Straight Talk who is one of the Sedgley and Dudley Community Charity partners...check out our showcase video below!
What do you do?
Just Straight Talk (JST) is a Community project supporting people by providing the practical help and motivation they need to turn their lives around and reach their life goals.
Since 2012, JST has worked holistically with the most complex individuals, or simply those that just need a helping hand. The team constantly goes the extra mile to ensure full support for people by providing a range of practical, inspirational support and mentoring. JST has a strong track record of helping people increase their confidence and self-esteem which results with engaging positively within society.

What impact has your partnership with Midcounties had?
We are currently in year 1 of our partnership with Just Straight Talk and White House Cancer Support chosen by colleagues and members of Sedgley & Dudley Regional Community team to be joint charity partners for two years.
Some of the great things we have done so far:
-
Raised over £5000 which has been split equally between the two partners (White House Cancer Support).
-
Colleagues from JST paddled with Midcounties colleagues on the team dragon boat in May.
-
Kate Beale (JST Director) delivered a Pom Pom making session at a team meeting to highlight their loneliness project.
-
Midcounties Colleagues joined basic British Sign making courses in which Kate’s team facilitated for three weeks in late November.
-
Toiletries project planned with colleagues packing 50 toiletries bags for service users who find themselves in emergency accommodation, and so on. The 50 bags have been hand sewn by Joanne Hand the Blakely food store manager.
-
