The remarkable colleagues from our Bourton-on-the-Water store stepped in to provide Cotswold Friends with refreshments for their recent pop-up shop and ended up doing a whole lot more to help.
When Cotswold Fundraising partner, Cotswold Friends, arranged a pop-up charity shop at Victoria Hall, Bourton-on-the-Water at the end of May, Bourton-on-the-Water Store Manager Kieran Allen and his team of remarkable colleagues stepped in to help.
Bourton store’s in-store cooking demonstrator Judy Chene whipped up some yummy cakes, which were delivered to the hall along with drinks. The remarkable colleagues also then spent the day doing good together selling the refreshments to shoppers hunting for bargain clothes, homewares and games.

The event raised £615 in total, with around half of that coming from cake and drink sales. The money raised went towards the wonderful work Cotswold Friends do to reduce loneliness and isolation amongst older and vulnerable people in the Cotswolds.
Cotswold Friends’ Volunteer Manager Sheryl Murray shared some touching feedback after the event:
“I just want to say how very grateful we were for all that you and your team did for us at pop up shop. I don't think I can find the words to express my gratitude.
“Your team were absolutely amazing, and we would have really struggled without them. I just also want to mention how amazingly kind Ashley was to us, as when he knew only a couple of us were returning to Moreton to unload, he came back with us to help. I cannot tell you how grateful I was to him. He is such a kind and generous man who really did you proud, and we couldn't have done that without him.
“Keiran, you and your team are awesome, and we thank you so much for all that you did. We are so lucky to have your support to help us and to raise funds.”

The team of remarkable colleagues is planning to support the charity at other upcoming events in a similar way.
