We have a guest blogger, Emily Stafford from the Customer Care and Insights Team, who tells us about her career journey so far!
"My job is Customer Service Advisor, taking calls for our Food Retail customers and members.
I originally worked in the kitchens at Warwick Head Office for 1 year, where I got to talk with many colleagues and learned how Cooperatives and the Society worked. I was very interested and applied for a role in the Customer Insights Team. I got the job in September 2019 and have not looked back since!
I really enjoy working with my team, we all get along really well and have a great passion for our roles. I have learned a lot whilst working at Midcounties: from having professional working relationships to learning about the business’ strategy and how our customers and members are at the heart of what we do.
“Working in customer care, I’ve had some interesting experiences. We have some really passionate members who care dearly about what we do and want us to perform well as a society, so they give us some great feedback. This also comes along with some great life stories about how the Co-op has been a part of their lives. It’s a very rewarding role to be in."
Emily’s advice for anyone thinking of a career at Midcounties:
“Customers and members are at the heart of everything we do. When completing work, we must ask ourselves about the customers and members point of view, is it beneficial for them? What will they think of it? Does it follow our ethical and sustainability values?
Keeping these questions in mind throughout your career will be greatly beneficial, they will keep you thinking in line with the Midcounties’ goals as a Society.”
