Earlier this week, we highlighted the action we are taking to support Great Big Green Week, but this week also happens to be Fair Tax Week. We are delighted to say that we, as a responsible business, have once again been awarded the Fair Tax Mark.
This is our tenth consecutive year of being given this recognition, which businesses receive for being committed to transparency over tax disclosures and paying the correct amount of tax.
As a values-led and ethical organisation, we take our responsibilities seriously when it comes to tax and do not engage in any avoidance schemes – even if these are legal. We, along with the Phone Co-op, were among the first to secure a Fair Tax Mark in 2014 and since then we ensure our tax disclosures are reviewed every two years.
It’s not always considered the most exciting topic, and often presented as a burden, but tax does ultimately effect all of us whether that be maintaining the roads we drive on, or the medical care we receive from the NHS. Corporation tax – what we pay – plays a crucial role in holding the whole tax system together, so it is important that we are as transparent on the issue as possible.
If you wish to learn more about Fair Tax, experts from its team regularly share insights and host webinars on the accreditation’s website.
