Welcome to this week’s issue of Colleague News – your round-up of the latest updates and highlights from across our Society.
In today’s edition, we’re showcasing how our Early Years business is building global relationships through the co-operative model, while also highlighting how young people are making a difference at OurCoop on World Youth Skills Day.
Kingsgrove Nursery welcomes International Co-operative Visitors
We were delighted to welcome a group of co-operative developers from Ukraine and Canada to Kingsgrove Nursery, where they spent the day learning about how our co-operative childcare model works in practice.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, experiences and the values that underpin our approach to childcare. Our guests met members of the team, explored our nursery and saw first-hand how co-operation helps create a nurturing environment for children, families and the wider community.
A huge thank you to our wonderful colleagues for showcasing everything that makes Kingsgrove such a special place. We hope the visit inspired new ideas, strengthened international connections and laid the foundations for future collaboration.
Together, we're demonstrating how the co-operative model can make a meaningful difference to children, families and communities—not just here, but around the world.

World Youth Skills Day
Every year on 15 July, World Youth Skills Day celebrates the importance of helping young people build the skills, confidence and experience they need for work, learning and life. It's a chance to recognise the difference education, training and development can make to helping young people reach their potential.
Helping young people thrive
At OurCoop, we're passionate about giving young people the best possible start. We're proud to uphold the Good Youth Employment Standards Benchmark, recognising our commitment to supporting, developing and inspiring the next generation.
Whether you're working with local schools and colleges, offering work experience, mentoring an apprentice or encouraging a young colleague to grow in confidence, every opportunity makes a difference. Together, we're helping create a Society where young people can thrive.
Our NextGen inclusion network is helping us create a Society where generations work together to support young people by sharing experiences, building connections, and influencing positive change. If you, or someone you know, would like to join, please reach out to Internal.Comms@centralcoop.co.uk.
Our young talent will help shape the future of our Society, and we're grateful to everyone who supports their development.
