Colleagues,
You may have seen recent media coverage regarding correspondence between OurCoop and Southern Co-op.
I want to provide some context and reassurance. OurCoop and Southern have worked closely together for many years, including delivering around £29 million per year in savings through shared procurement.
Our recent letter to Southern was written in that same spirit of co-operation. It recognised our long-standing partnership, shared insights from bringing OurCoop together earlier this year, and reflected our continued commitment to working collaboratively across the co-operative movement.
As co-operatives, we are guided by a principle of co-operation among co-operatives, and we strongly believe in the value of independent societies working together, supporting one another, and sharing learning for the benefit of members and communities.
We remain focused on our strategy and on delivering for our members, colleagues and communities, while continuing to champion a strong and thriving independent co-operative sector.
Finally, as we head into the Bank Holiday weekend and payday, I hope you’re able to take some time to rest, enjoy it and take advantage of some of the great colleague offers available this weekend. Thank you, as always, for the continued hard work and support you show our members and each other during what we know can be a busy trading period.
Thank you for everything you do.
