Taking Doing Good Together on tour, many of our remarkable colleagues took a few hours out of their Travel Conference to craft some stunning wooden toys for disadvantaged local children.
At the beginning of December, a number of our travel colleagues travelled to Paphos, Cyprus for the Travel Conference.
Making time in their schedule of talks and workshops, our remarkable colleagues came together to spread a little Christmas cheer for local children in need by making toys.
During a two-hour Toy Factory session, 292 Travel colleagues constructed and decorated 108 wooded cars and planes that were then distributed through charity InterFRONTIERS, part of Catalyst Global, to children who were unlikely to receive a Christmas gift. Amazing!
When asked how the opportunity for this special volunteering project came about, Commercial Manager Harriet Desai said, “We wanted to do a community-led activity this year so we could leave an impact on the destination we visited and as the conference was in December we felt it would be good to give something back for Christmas.”
Our colleagues really enjoyed the session, sharing:
“The Toy Factory was enjoyable and humbling at the same time.”
“I thought that the Toy Factory was a really nice thing to do, and it gave us the opportunity to give back.”
“Toy Factory was amazing. This was such a lovely cause to take part in.”
Yiolanda Michael from InterFRONTIERS sent a heartfelt thank you to the team, saying
“We have delivered the presents to the two foundations, and they were truly touched by your generous donations. They have asked me to extend their heartfelt gratitude to you and your team.
On behalf of myself and the team, we want to say how much we enjoyed the time spent with your teams. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for all of us.”
