The political turmoil in the UK has continued with the resignation of the Prime Minister which means one way or another we are about to see our fifth Prime Minister appointed in the last 6 years. I think most of us would prefer stability in leadership and for businesses, having clear Government policies are extremely important to how we plan and make decisions about investments. The real concerns of householders are about the cost of living and future uncertainties that need to be met with clear fiscal policies and a strong decisive Government.
Menopause – let’s talk about it
With it being World Menopause Day earlier this week, it was great to see our teams raising awareness of menopause to all colleagues. A medical condition which affects millions of people worldwide, we had a great turnout at the first Menopause café on Tuesday. Giving the chance for a number of colleagues to meet in a like-minded space and discuss the common condition of Menopause, I would like to say a thank you to colleague Anne Barnard who shared her personal story. Something we have also introduced is the Menopause and Andropause policy, so if this is of relevance please have a read. If you would like to read Anne’s story or find out more about the policy and what we are doing around the subject, click here.
Half Year Meetings conclude
This week saw the conclusion of our Half Year Meetings with four successful meetings in Oxford, West Midlands, Gloucester & Warwick. Meeting our members in-person, it was great to hear their thoughts and present our half-year results as we come to the end of 2022.
West Midlands - Half Year Meeting
Gloucester - Half Year Meeting
Warwick - Half Year Meeting
Finishing off the meetings on Wednesday, for the first time, we held a hybrid meeting at Co-operative House in Warwick. Giving a selected number of members the opportunity to ask questions online, in-person and via video, the meeting was streamed live simultaneously online and in-person.
If you missed the meetings, have a watch of the half-year highlights below, they really do showcase our Co-op difference.
Membership campaign anniversary, Pay day weekend & Pulse Survey
A little happy birthday to us, as this time last year, we launched our member’s campaign supported by the member’s app. A big well done and thank you to all our colleagues for continuing to promote membership across all trading areas, we have really made some big strides in reaching new and existing members. Have a read of some of the standout statistics below.
Don’t forget, this weekend colleagues can take advantage of Pay day with a host of discounts across Food, Pharmacy and Travel. Helping members stay well this winter, 20% off continues across our Pharmacy website until 31st October as well as 20% off in Food stores & great deals in Travel. If you want to find out more click here.
The latest colleague pulse survey has also gone live and closes on 30 October, so if you haven’t already, it’s your chance to let us know your views by taking part. All you need to do is log in via Colleagues Connect, and the survey link will be shown in your notifications.
Taking part in the survey ensures we gain an overall view of what colleagues think and from this, we can make positive changes for the better. I encourage everyone to take part and share the survey with fellow colleagues. Entries are anonymous, and if you take part, you have a chance to win one of five £20 Your Co-op Vouchers. Finally, to all our colleagues celebrating the festival of lights this coming Monday, I wish you a Happy Diwali and a prosperous new year.
