Welcome to September’s update from the People Development team. This month, Alice Belson, Colleague Development Associate, tells us all about the Society’s new Cyber Security Module!
Check out our new Cyber Security Module!
The recent increase in remote working, fast development of Artificial Intelligence, and increased capabilities of cyber attackers has led to the introduction of a cyber security module for colleagues to complete in Q3. Colleagues could be at risk of a cyber-attack in their personal lives through spam emails and text messages or in the workplace, for example by scanning QR codes that have been set up by attackers (also known as quishing!) or by clicking on a link in a phishing email.
A cyber-attack could have serious financial, reputational and security implications for the Society, so it’s vital we’re all aware of what measures we need to take to prevent a cyber-attack from happening.
We appreciate that this module is being released part-way through Q3, hence we have chosen quick, informative videos to inform colleagues of important cyber risks.
Please note the following:
- The deadline for this module is 26th October (end of Q3).
- If applicable, the module will appear on your dashboard. Please log into your i.Learn account to access this module.
- Each video in the module is around 30 seconds long, so easy to complete in bite-sized chunks.
- Please discuss with your manager when it’s an appropriate time for you to complete your learning modules.

As a reminder of which learning modules are due to be completed in Q3, you can view the Learning and Development Calendar here.
In addition to the mandatory learning modules, the calendar also includes the 'opportunities to develop' available during the quarter and details on how they will be delivered.
