Are you ready to improve your Mental Health & Wellbeing? Well, you have picked the right week to get started during Mental Health Awareness Week. 😊
Today 'Be Active'
Throughout the week we have a range of tips from our Mental Health experts including our environmental ambassador Cal Major, Mind charity ambassador, Paol Stuart Thomson & Paul Mcgregor from Everymind who have all kindly filmed a number of helpful videos for you, our colleagues to watch.
Don’t forget to also log your activity miles between 8th-18th May here, so we can reach 2,500 miles and donate £2,500 to the charity Mind. Every mile counts!

Get out and about
Regular physical activity is associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety across all age groups. Did you know exercise is also essential for slowing age-related cognitive decline and for promoting well-being?
Activity doesn’t need to be particularly intense for you to feel good - slower-paced activities, such as walking, can have the benefit of encouraging social interactions as well as providing some level of exercise.
So, why not get physical today:
-
Take the stairs not the lift
-
Go for a walk at lunchtime
-
Walk into work – perhaps with a colleague – so you can ‘connect’ as well
-
Organize a work sporting activity
-
Have a kick-about in the local park
-
Do some ‘easy exercise’, like stretching, before you leave for work in the morning
