This month, we are highlighting Mental Health Awareness Week from 15th to 21st May, and also GroceryAid Day, which was on the 10th May – both raising awareness around mental health and wellbeing. As colleagues, did you know there are several resources available to you for support?
The 2023 campaign theme is that Grocery Aid is ‘Always Open’ and it aims to highlight how colleagues can access Grocery Aid’s support, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, either through the free and confidential - Helpline 08088 021122 or the website here.
So, who are Grocery Aid, and what do they do?
GroceryAid is always open, whatever time of day or night, you can call the GroceryAid Helpline and have a free and confidential conversation with a trained counsellor and receive immediate emotional support or guidance on how we can help you.
If you work in the grocery industry, you can access this support.

What is Mental Health Awareness Week?
Founded in 2001, Mental Health Awareness Week is a UK event supported by the Mental Health Foundation. The aim of this week is to educate the public about mental health issues and to promote better mental health. This event is also a vehicle to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

Kooth
Mental health support for young people aged 11-25.
Kooth is an online community for young people aged 11-25 years old that enables them to seek advice about worries or concerns, making it ideal for young colleagues working in your organisation. As part of the community, users can connect with others through an online discussion board, talk to the Kooth team through live chat, write a daily journal and get information about a wide range of topics, from building self-esteem to handling exam worries.

Relate Counselling: Free Confidential Counselling
Healthy relationships with partners and family are vital to support our overall wellbeing. Our service partners, Relate can help restore family relationships when additional support is needed. Colleagues can find out if they are eligible for free couples or family counselling here.
Grocery Aid & Law Express: Free Legal Advice
Legal advice service through Grocery Aid’s Helpline.
Colleagues can access experienced telephone information specialists, by calling GroceryAid’s helpline, seven days a week for confidential legal advice. GroceryAid partners with Law Express to offer support with issues including family, motoring, consumer rights, tenancy, tax and many more.

What else can I do? Check-in with your manager
Remember to have regular Check-in conversations with your manager; you can request a wellbeing check-in with them specifically if you need to talk about anything related to mental health, whether it is work related, or not.
Remember to check in with each other as well, to make sure your fellow colleagues are ok!
