Microsoft Azure Information Protection (AIP) is nearly here. As you may remember from our last story on 3rd February, AIP is the software that will help us control and secure emails & documents containing sensitive data that we share outside the Society. Monday 22nd February marks the start of the AIP phased roll out across the Society and today we update colleagues on what they need to do.
The Roll-Out Plan
AIP will become active for each Business area on a dedicated week during the implementation period. This runs from w/c 22nd February 2021 until the end of March 2021.
- w/c 22nd February Support Services (including the Exec Team and their PAs, excluding Finance)
- w/c 1st March Healthcare, Post Offices, Utilities
- w/c 8th March Childcare and Finance
- w/c 15th March Travel
- w/c 22nd March Food Retail
- w/c 29th March Funeral
What do I need to do?
Make sure that you know which week your business area will go live and who your Data Protection Champion is. They will be able to support you with any related AIP queries.

Look out for emails from your Data Protection Champion, who will remind you of when you will be receiving AIP, how to get started and what to do if you encounter any issues.
Support available
There will be various ways to get help if you are uncertain or stuck with AIP:
-
Contact your Data Protection Champion – they have already been trialling AIP and may be able to offer advice.
-
Visit the AIP area on Colleague Connect where there will be Tutorials and FAQs available from the start of rollout.
-
Ask your Data Protection Champion to email the AIP mailbox or raise a ticket in ServiceNow if neither of the above solves your issue.
