The Society’s annual elections process has begun, starting with a call for nominations. We encourage you all to take part and help lead your Society. 🗣
Demonstrating our Values in Action
The Society’s elections demonstrate our values in action, particularly Democracy, which forms a key part of being a co-operative. Democracy (one of our DOES Values) is at the heart of our business, we are owned and run by our members. Our members vote to elect our Board of Directors, who set the direction of our Society.
Nominations open until 19th July
Nominations are open from today. This is where any member can put themselves forward to stand for either the Board of Directors or Member Engagement Committee.

Nominations will close at 5:00pm on 19th July and we’ll share information about each candidate with all our colleagues and members, with voting opening on 3 September. This is your opportunity to vote for your Board and Committee members. The final voting closes at 5:00pm on 4th October and results will be announced at the Half-Yearly Meetings.
New for this year – Young Co-operators Society Elections
We’re running the first-ever Young Co-operators Election campaign for three seats on the Member Engagement Committee (MEC). It’s an amazing opportunity to be involved in how the Midcounties operates in the future.
Our Young members can bring a wide variety of benefits to the Committee. One is bringing fresh insights and ideas which may have not been thought of before. The elections will also help to provide young members with an equal voice to share their thoughts and opinions by ensuring that young people feel represented; their ideas and voices can influence what the Society does in the future.
