Demonstrating our Values in Action
The Society’s elections demonstrate our values in action, particularly Democracy, which forms a key part of being a co-operative. Democracy (one of our DOES Values) is at the heart of our business, we are owned and run by our members. Our members vote for our Board of Directors, who set the direction of our Society and Member Engagement Committee members, who review our member engagement strategy as set by the Board.
Voting is now open until 4th October
What are the Society Elections?
The Society Elections are your chance to have your say! Every year, members have the chance to elect their Board of Directors and Member Engagement Committee representatives. Why not watch our short video which explains how you can vote and why it's important!
Voting closes at 5:00pm on 4th October and results will be announced at the Half-Yearly Meetings.
New for this year – Young Co-operators join the MEC!
There are three seats now available on the Member Engagement Committee (MEC) for our Young members. It’s an amazing opportunity to be involved in how the Midcounties operates in the future.
Young members can bring a wide variety of benefits to the Committee. One is bringing fresh insights and ideas which may have not been thought of before. The elections will also help to provide young members with an equal voice to share their thoughts and opinions by ensuring that young people feel represented.
