It’s Young Carers Action Day this week. A chance to highlight the great work Young Carers do, have a listen to our exclusive podcast with Walsall Young Carers and the Young Co-operators Network (YCN).

How Midcounties have supported the Walsall Young Carers – Conor O'Neil
“I have had the pleasure of being involved with the Walsall Young Carers since I joined Midcounties. Whether it’s been going on fun trips with them, helping with their parties, or even welcoming them into our Waterfront office for movie nights it has been one of the most rewarding elements of working here. I would recommend all colleagues to see how they can use some of their volunteer hours to get stuck in with whatever local support groups are around in their area, you won’t regret it.
I have also coordinated more developmental activities with them including litter picks, career sessions, and even secured roughly £6,000 in external funding for them! Groups like this take a holistic approach where soft skills are constantly nurtured through the interactions, they have with each other, whilst experiencing freedom they might not have in their home lives.”
