This week is USDAW’s Respect for Shopworkers Week, which will run until 17th November. This is a campaign we, as a business, have supported for many years, and now, more than ever, it is crucial for us to continue our support.
Doing all we can to combat retail crime
For a long time, we have campaigned, in partnership with USDAW and others across the co-operative movement, for measures to protect shop workers. Following last year’s efforts, we are beginning to see positive changes and we welcome the government’s commitment to introducing tougher penalties for shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and assaults against retail workers.
We continue to work closely with local police forces and Police and Crime Commissioners at an executive level to address retail crime and make our business a safer place for colleagues, members and customers.
