Welcome to April’s LEAP news. We’re excited to share with you what’s been happening in the world of LEAP this month. Claire McCarthy, Leadership and Career Solutions Lead, tells us a little more about our Graduates and how you can take your own LEAP!
A huge well done to our colleagues who have completed their apprenticeships over the past month:
Mia Watson, Team Manager in our Stourbridge store, achieved a Distinction in her Retail Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship
Rana Sidhu, Customer Service Assistant in our High Street Food Market, also achieved a Distinction in her Retail Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship
Congratulations Mia and Rana – this is a fantastic achievement and is a result of all your hard work and commitment.

Since January 2022, we’ve had 62 colleagues complete an apprenticeship with us:
-
32 Childcare colleagues achieved their Early Years Practitioner Level 2
-
18 Childcare colleagues achieved their Early Years Educator Level 3
-
1 Food colleague achieved their Retailer Level 2
-
4 Food colleagues achieved their Retail Team Leader Level 3
-
3 Food colleagues achieved their Retail Team Manager Level 4
-
1 Travel colleague achieved their Travel Consultant Level 3
-
We also had colleagues from our Support Services complete their apprenticeships in Property Maintenance and Learning and Development.
At the end of their apprenticeship programme, our colleagues need to sit an End Point Assessment which is assessed externally and is graded either Pass, Distinction or Fail. 61% of our colleagues achieved a Distinction in their End Point Assessment, with the remaining colleagues achieving a Pass, which is a fantastic result – well done to all our apprentice graduates!
