Our Bourton Food store now boasts some smart new display bins upcycled from delivery pallets, thanks to local community group Men in Sheds. A great example of co-operation and doing good together!
Through our partnership with the Cotswold Regional Community Partner, Cotswold Friends, our Bourton Food store has begun doing good together with local community group Men in Sheds.
The Men in Sheds team took great joy in turning unwanted pallets used for delivering goods to the store into these nifty-looking display bins for the Bourton store – giving the pallets a new lease of life and making a sustainable impact at the same time!

Who is Men in Sheds?
The Bourton Men in Sheds group is a team of predominantly, but not exclusively, older men who are keen woodworkers. They meet twice a week for companionship and wellbeing while doing something they enjoy.
The store paid the team for their efforts, with the money going towards much-needed repairs for their workshop roof.
Showcasing their amazing work
A member of the Men in Sheds team who worked on the project shared this comment with us, “Bourton Men in Sheds were delighted to work in partnership with Your Co-op constructing the new display units. Items are usually installed at private homes and the opportunity to have items installed on shop premises has been a development for us. This allows the public to see first-hand what we do at the sheds and it’s exciting for us to display our work in a busy venue. We look forward to working together on our next project.”
But it doesn’t end there…
Adam Quinton, Food Markets General Manager, explains that there’s more in the pipeline for this partnership which is making a real sustainable impact.
“We hope to continue working with Men in Sheds & Cotswold Friends. They provide a repair shop-style service for the community of Bourton and we have invited them into the store to promote what they do. In the last two months, we also held a cake sale raising £140 for their workshop roof.”
