Welcome to this weeks edition of Wellbeing Wednesday - we hope you are all keeping well.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete the Colleague Wellbeing Survey - this will ensure your voices are heard within our Society.
A task for the week 😊
Many people will think that colouring is just a children's activity, well now it's been recognised to have real therapeutic health benefits for everyone!
This week we challenge you all to dig out your bright crayons and colour in some of the interesting outlines below. It's easy, just print them off and start colouring in!
Don't forget to send in photos of your colouring masterpieces to communications@midcounties.coop
Some of last week's Wellbeing Wednesday activities!
Why not get involved this week and send us your pictures/videos to communications@midcounties.coop
Our colleague, Julia Farrell sent us a few pictures in due to a newfound love of Cooking and Nature - thanks Julia! 😊
Support from Grocery Aid is available through a Free, confidential helpline. The 24/7 helpline offers independent advice to solve problems and provide emotional support. There is also a telephone interpreting service should you need it. Take a look at some of the support areas below.
Financial Assistance
Crisis Grants
These non-repayable grants are designed to help those experiencing an unexpected emergency, a change in circumstances or a sudden gap in income.
You can apply for a crisis grant if:
-
You are currently working in the grocery industry and can evidence a minimum of one year’s service or more
-
You are no longer working in the grocery industry, but previously worked in it for five years or more*
-
Household net income and savings meet GroceryAid's financial criteria
*The time worked doesn't have to be continuous and can be with multiple companies.
Workplace Critical Incident
Funded by The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust, the service supports grocery colleagues who have been affected by a critical incident that leaves an individual traumatised and struggling to cope, including:
-
Accidents at work
-
Death of a colleague
-
Medical emergencies
-
Robberies with a threat to life
-
Vehicle accidents
-
Violent attacks
Although different in their nature, these events all tend to happen out of the blue, be life-threatening and leave people feeling out of control and potentially unable to cope with the complicated emotions that they trigger.
How this service works
The service is activated when an accident, robbery or assault has occurred in the workplace resulting in a critical incident.
An employer, witness or victim can contact our free 24/7 confidential Helpline.
An initial assessment is made and if a site visit is required, the Helpline will arrange for a trauma support specialist to attend at a time convenient to those affected for either a full/half day. This depends on the number of staff involved.
Eligibility criteria:
Available to any Midcounties colleagues who have witnessed or been involved in a critical incident in the workplace
