The data protection laws which came into force in May 2018, have increased and sharpened compliance obligations for all organisations. All about the processing of people’s personal data, it has introduced new powers for regulators to impose much higher fines on businesses that fail to comply with the law. Here within Midcounties this is a mandatory compliance requirement for all colleagues.
As you all should be aware by now, this topic relates to all business groups within the Society. Following feedback on the Society’s Data Protection module launched in October 2019, we decided to create a more user-friendly module to help our colleagues learn more about Data Protection and to ensure we process people’s personal data in the right way.
Today we announce that the latest Data Protection module is now live on i.Learn for all colleagues to complete.
About the module…
We’ve listened to your feedback! This new module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and helps to encourage colleagues to think about how the law relates to and affects all of us in our day-to-day responsibilities.
Whilst the module is by no means exhaustive of the legal requirements, it will provide colleagues with a general overview of the need-to-know areas such as data security, data breaches and individual rights requests.
How can I access it and take part?
Click here to access the module by logging into the i.Learn system using your AD login credentials (these are the same as Kronos and your payslip). If you have forgotten your password, you can use the FastPass reset functionality to create a new password.
Should you have any queries please email: i.learn@midcounties.coop .
