Our 200th Power Purchase Agreement is signed!
Younity exists to support a growing sustainable energy movement of community energy groups – owned by the people for the benefit of the people; a movement that’s driven passionately by our forward-thinking and innovative partnership between Midcounties and Octopus Energy.
Since the inception in 2019, they have worked hard to be central to supercharging the growth of Community Energy and are now delighted to announce that they have signed their 200th Power purchase agreement with Dorset Community Energy (DCE).
What does this mean for community energy?
Younity provides vital support to 200 community energy projects by providing energy supply agreements.
Every Younity Power Purchase agreement ensures that community energy groups, like DCE get a fair price for the energy they generate and help secure the long-term future of these vital renewable energy assets. Energy generated from the schemes supported by Younity is enough to power 60,000 households with solar, wind and hydro energy projects across the UK – explore the UK PPA map to get an understanding of the scope.
Dorset Community Energy’s projects are a driving force behind twenty-four solar installations on schools, community buildings and hospitals across Dorset.

This 200th PPA increases the purchase volumes of electricity units from community energy groups which feeds directly into Your Co-op Energy community power tariff.
