Developing at Midcounties
Lifelong learning helps us to become more confident, curious, purposeful and skilled. By learning, we can achieve our personal aspirations and organisational goals, and we can address and deal with challenges big or small.
From the results of our most recent Society Pulse Survey, 69.9% of colleagues believe they have the opportunity to develop at Midcounties.
As part of Learning at Work Week, we will be celebrating the value and importance of all types of learning in work and life, showcasing how Midcounties can support you to grow and develop.
So…what motivates to you learn? How do you overcome barriers to learning, making the most of what learning offers?
Personal development at work can be used to learn something totally new or to build on any existing skills, knowledge and competencies. Development is something we feel passionate about, continuous growth is our goal.

Shadowing others or ‘trading places’ with them gives you the opportunity to observe others in their roles, and learning different ways of working. Attending networking events, peer group sessions or interacting with others, as well as coaching and mentoring are also good opportunities to learn from others.
Learning ‘on-the-job’ is where we do the majority of our learning and development. It gives us the opportunity to put into practice what we’ve learnt from courses and others, as well as giving us the chance to try out new ways of working.
Why not offer to cover or deputise for a colleague or volunteer to work on a new project?
Or maybe just put yourself forward for a task or activity that will challenge and stretch you!
