I feel compelled to write to you to praise the service my partner and myself have received recently from the Stonehouse Food store and the staff. During February and March of this year we were both stricken by the coronavirus. For a period of several weeks, we were isolating in our home due to this and were finding even simple tasks quite a test due to the seriousness of out illness. For a nearly a week, I was admitted to hospital with my partner on her own at home. You will understand what a distressing and difficult time this was for the both of us. At the very beginning of this time we found it extremely difficult to find delivery slots for home delivery from any of the major high street stores. However, having contacted our local coop store (262) we were immediately offered without hesitation a complete service from shopping to doorstep delivery by volunteer staff free of any extra charges. And I should add this was all carried out with absolute adherence to the required and proper precautions in terms of distancing and PPE etc.
We cannot commend highly enough the understanding, willingness, and kindness we received from all the staff we dealt with at the Stonehouse store and feel this should be recognised. Helen and the team involved really seemed to us to go above and beyond what anybody could expect in their service to us. We are regular and fairly frequent users of the store and this experience will only reinforce that. We are great supporters of cooperation and the ethos of the Co-operative movement which has long roots in working-class communities going back to 1863. It was good to see something of that founding spirit alive in the way in which we were treated in this instance, and that there is a community spirit alive and well here. Many thanks to all those concerned.
An incredible customer thank you letter to our Stonehouse Food store, really showcasing all the hard work our colleagues are doing during this pandemicπππ
